The Pyramid Age is a rather loosely defined historical term. Technically, it refers to the time when Royal pyramids were constructed, starting with the reign of Djoser (lph) of the 3rd Dynasty, and ending with the reign of Ahmose I (lph) at the beginning of the New Kingdom. However, it is sometimes used more narrowly to refer to the "Golden Age" of pyramid construction in the 3rd and 4th Dynasties.
